Who we are
NabShift ("NabShift", "we", "us", "our") provides a shift-scheduling and staff-messaging service to security staffing companies. If you are a worker, the schedule and text messages you receive are managed by the security staffing company that engages you (the "Company"); NabShift operates the platform on the Company's behalf.
Scope
This policy covers personal information handled through the NabShift web app and its SMS text-message service.
Information we collect
- Roster & profile information (provided by the Company or by you): your name, mobile phone number, worker classification, shirt size, certifications and their expiry dates, general home area, and shift-availability preferences. You may optionally add a profile photo.
- Attendance information: when you check in or out of a shift from the app, a single, one-time GPS location reading and timestamp, validated against the shift's venue; a check-in by text records the timestamp only. NabShift does not perform continuous location tracking and does not collect your location between check-in and check-out.
- Message & usage information: records of text messages sent and received for the service (including delivery status), and basic technical information needed to operate and secure the app.
- Demo analytics (public demo only): our public sales demo at demo.nabshift.com collects anonymous usage events — which screens and buttons are used, a random per-visit session identifier, your browser type, screen size, and the page that referred you. No name, phone number, email, or IP address is collected or stored, and no cookies are set. This applies only to the public demo, never to the app a crew actually uses.
- Marketing site analytics (nabshift.com only): this marketing website uses Google Analytics to understand traffic — pages viewed, referring site, device/browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors; see Google's privacy policy for how Google processes this data. This applies only to the public marketing site, never to the worker/admin app or the SMS service.
- Get-started form (voluntary): if you submit our contact form (on this site or at the end of the demo tour), we receive exactly what you type — name, email, role, crew size — and use it only to reply to you about NabShift.
How we use information
To schedule and staff shifts; to notify you of open shifts, confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, and approvals; to record attendance and support payroll timesheets; and to operate, secure, and improve the service.
Text messages (SMS)
If you receive text messages, you were added to a crew roster by the Company's scheduler and asked to confirm (reply YES) before shift alerts begin. Message frequency varies with shift activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. See our SMS Terms for the full program details.
How we share information — and what we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
- With the Company that engages you — they schedule your shifts and manage your roster.
- With service providers that operate the platform under contract and only to provide the service — for example our SMS/text-messaging provider (Twilio) and our cloud hosting and database providers (Supabase, Vercel). These providers may process information only on our instructions.
- When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
Data retention
We keep roster, profile, and attendance information for as long as you are associated with a Company's crew and as needed for payroll, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls and encryption of data in transit, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. To review, update, or request deletion of your information, contact your Company's scheduler or email us at hello@nabshift.com; we will honor applicable rights and may need to verify your identity. Some information must be retained where required for payroll or legal purposes.
Employment tool; not for children
NabShift is a workforce tool intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated through the service.
