Claims — instant or approved, your call
By default one tap in the app or one reply by text fills the slot on the spot, first come first served. Posts that need vetting take claim approval: claims queue as requests and nobody is on the shift until dispatch confirms. Once a slot is filled, later replies get the same polite not-available answer. No double-booking, ever.
Direct assign & pre-assign
Place a specific guard on a post yourself when a callout needs a sure thing: same eligibility and cert gates as a self-claim, no rebroadcast required.
Open-ended shifts & contract end dates
A shift that runs "until event ends" never shows a fake end time; every surface says exactly that. Recurring posts can carry a real contract end date, inclusive.

Check-in, two ways
The app's one-tap check-in and check-out adds a one-time, venue-validated location stamp at each shift edge. A check-in by text records the time only — no location. Neither one tracks between shift edges.
Late-arrival stamps & unpaid breaks
A guard running late can add a second location stamp instead of forcing a wrong first one. Break clock-out and clock-in net the unpaid time out of payroll.
Automatic start/end reminders
Clock-in, photo, and clock-out nudge texts go out on their own as a shift opens and closes — no admin has to remember to send them.
Ask location, mid-shift
An admin can text one named worker to ask where they are right now, separate from the automated reminders; the worker replies through an app-less link.
Lock windows & the approvals inbox
Lock windows before shift start turn a drop into a request instead of an automatic release — approve with a one-tap rebroadcast, or deny.

A real two-way inbox
Dispatch reads the full thread history with every worker, company-wide, and replies in-thread. A reply that doesn't match a known command is flagged, not dropped.

A post limited to approved workers simply never appears to anyone else in any channel: no pin, no text.
Roster fixes that don't erase history
A worker is archived, never deleted, which frees their number for reuse. Change a phone number and opt-in restarts clean — no silent carryover.
